Located in the southernmost part of Sarasota County, south of Venice, backing up to Lemon Bay, part of Englewood is in the adjoining Charlotte County. For outdoor activities, there is Stump Pass Beach and Blind Pass Beach, where you can enjoy watching dolphins swimming and manatees gliding past in the water. The atmosphere in Englewood is very laid back, reminding visitors of “Old Florida.” The crowds are lighter which allows you to just enjoy nature and the local restaurants, featuring great seafood, without standing in really long lines. Just a short drive down the road is Manasota Key Beach, with plenty of hiking trails, great fishing and boating and a wonderful beach.
